This project was originally completed for WisDOT in 2008, but the bare deck experienced early age cracking in the first 10 years of service. Products considered during the material selection phase include healer/sealers, multi-layer thin polymer overlays, modified concretes and Polyester Polymer Concrete (PPC). 

 

PPC 1121 was chosen for its exceptional service history, ease of installation, rapid traffic return and integrated High Molecular Weight Methacrylate (HMWM) crack-sealing penetrating primer.
